What kind of clay do you use?

EMRIS uses two main types of a clay—a dark stoneware and brick clay. Every once and a while you might also see something pop up in porcelain.

Different clay bodies are combined to play with the natural finish and color of each type—so the body of a piece might have been thrown with the brick clay, but an attachment made from stoneware was added. In this case items are referred by whichever clay makes up the majority of the piece.

how do I care for my emris ceramic?

All items are food and dishwasher safe!

I don’t recommend frequent or extended use in the microwave. Because of the high amount of iron in the clay bodies EMRIS uses, pieces tend to get hot when microwaved.

What is your shipping policy?

DOMESTIC

Expect in stock items to be shipped 3-5 business days after your order is placed. For made to order items, please allow for up to 3 weeks for your order to be sent out.

LOCAL PICK UP

If you live in Chicago and want to get your wares a little sooner EMRIS encourages you to choose this option at check out! Local pick up is available in East Garfield Park.

INTERNATIONAL

Unfortunately EMRIS does not offer international shipping at the moment!

Can I return an item?

All items are final sale unless damaged in shipping. Please note that colors on screen can differ from what the product looks like at home. If you are greatly unsatisfied with a product you receive, please reach out through the contact page!
